Overview

The Skellig Ring Tour is not as famous as the Ring of Kerry Tour or the Dingle Peninsula, but it deserves to be. Mid Kerry Cabs & Tours take you to some of Kerry’s lesser-known delights on this alternative tour that incorporates part of the Ring of Kerry. Catch your breath at the Atlantic Ocean’s spectacular beauty as you approach Valentia Island and the Skellig Ring.

Valentia Island

This scenic but little-known route reveals the charms of Valentia Island, home to such eclectic landmarks as the 385-million-year-old fossilized footprints of a Tetrapod, the site of the first transatlantic telegraph communication, and the slate mines that roofed London’s houses of parliament. Enjoy magnificent 360-degree views from the Geokaun Cliffs, incorporating the Skellig and Blasket Islands, Fogher Cliffs, Portmagee, and the mountains of Kerry.

Skellig Michael

On this wildly beautiful tour, views of Skellig Michael are never far away. The craggy pyramid of rock was home to a hardy community of monks between the 6th and 12th centuries and is now famous as a location in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Customer Reviews

We highly recommend Mid Kerry Cabs for the Skellig Ring tour. We had heard about the Skelligs and how beautiful they were, especially after they appeared on Star Wars, so when we heard there was a tour we could do, we jumped at the chance. We were thrilled with our driver, who was so helpful and friendly and knew a huge amount about the local history. Thank you Mid Kerry Cabs for making our visit such a pleasant one!
